We were down at my parents house for Christmas. I have always been an early riser on Christmas and this one was no different. I couldn't sleep all night, the problem with this is that Brynnlee slept the whole night (first time for everything). She hasn't done it since, guess she really wanted presents. I woke Lexie up at 6:30, JD and everybody else was not very happy, but hey it is Christmas! We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas.

For Christmas Eve we always have a candle light dinner with creamy potato soup and chicken noodle soup. It would not be complete without my mom homemade rolls. We had a great Christmas Eve family night and dinner.

Christmas Eve day we played outside in the snow for hours. First we got the runner sleds out and went from the driveway to the road. You don't go very fast but it is fast enough for the kids. Then my dad got his new sled out for the snowmobile and pulled the kids around the fields. Brett got the snowcat and built a jump to go snowboarding on. The kids had a blast and it wore them out so they went to bed earlier!

At the Cox Christmas Santa came to visit. I was really nervous about how Lexie would react. She did exactly what I thought she would . . . almost! She cried and screamed when he came in and would not sit on his lap. I had to carry her up there and she wouldn't look at him or talk to him. She was however happy to get a present. The shocker . . . when I put Brynnlee on Santa's lap, Lexie marched right up there and stood by her. She answered all the questions Santa asked and took Brynnlee's present for her.

From that point on she says Santa is nice and brings presents and she likes him. She was excited for Santa to bring her more presents.

She has tried to feed Brynnlee since she was born, but she now can do it all by herself.

Weber State BBall

We went to a Weber State Basketball game for family night a couple weeks ago. The girls loved it. Lexie loved Waldo the Wildcat until he got too close. She loved that daddy caught a ball for her. Brynnlee loved the lights and was so good. They beat the U of U, it was a great game.

HELP!

Lexie is terrified of Santa. Not just seeing him in real life, I would be ok with that. She is terrified of just the thought of him. She will not read any books with Santa in them. She won't even watch Dora or Diego Christmas shows (she loves Dora and Diego) because they have Santa in them. I tried again today to read her a Christmas book and she started crying. I have tried a couple of times to get her to watch Dora's Christmas show and as soon as Santa comes on she freaks out and tells me to turn it off. She doesn't even care that Santa brings toys. If anyone asks her what Santa is going to bring her, she almost starts to cry and says "I don't want anything". At first I thought sweet I can get her anything and she will be happy. But now I feel bad because she really has a phobia of Santa Clause. You should see the looks people give me when they ask her what she wants and she says "nothing". They look at me like I am a horrible mother, like she is not getting anything because she has been a bad girl.

So if anyone has an idea on how to get Lexie to be 'okay' with Santa please share your ideas with me. HELP!

Brynnlee 4 months old

We went to the doctor yesterday, Brynnlee is now a whoppin' 11 lbs 9 oz and 23 in long. She is in the 2% for height and weight which is exciting because last time she was only in the 0.5%. She still has acid reflux and spits up all the time but hey we are making progress.

Brynnlee loves to smile and is very ticklish, she loves to stand and really hates tummy time. Lexie still loves to take care of her, she loves to help me dress her and change her diapers. Lexie loves to feed her. She thinks every time Brynnlee falls asleep that she did it and gets so proud of herself for putting her little sister to sleep.

My mom cut Lexie's hair while we were down there for Thanksgiving. I love it and she thinks she looks like a princess.

Anderson Christmas Party

The Anderson Christmas Party is not a normal Christmas party. We always do some sort of service instead of presents. There is still food and games like any other party. But the main event is always the service project. This year we made quilts for a youth corrections facility and for babies in Afghanistan. My Grandma is an amazing person who decided one year to give her grandkids the gift of giving. It is cool to see everybody pitching in to get the various projects done. This is one of the only times you get to see men quilting! We didn't get to stay very long, but we enjoyed the time we were there.

Soccer

A couple of weeks ago Clay (JD's little brother) played in the NCCS soccer tournament. JD, his brother Russ and Morris and Janeen took a road trip down to Arizona to watch. They drove through the night on the way there and on the way back. Weber State (Clay's team) beat Michigan State, Texas State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Michigan, and then Florida for the champion. They won the National Championship!

While they were all down in warm sunny weather relaxing and enjoying themselves. I was home freezing trying to put together a ward party by myself. Luckily we have a really good ward and lots of people who were willing to help me out. It turned out better than I expected thanks to everyone who jumped in and helped.

First Snow

On Saturday we got up on the roof to finish our Christmas lights and got down just as the snow started flying. Lexie was so excited. She couldn't wait for it to hit the ground to eat it. She was only out there for a couple of minutes before she realized it was freezing. She then came in the house and waited until there was some on the ground so she could run out every now and then to grab a handful to eat.
