Lexie first day of Sunshine Preschool

Lexie's 1st day of Preschool
She is going to Sunshine Preschool with
Teacher Brandi and Teacher Tosha

Brynnlee would not move out of the way she was excited about Lexie going to school too.

Bryce Canyon

We spent Labor Day weekend at Bryce Canyon.  It is a gorgeous place.  We stayed in a tee-pee right next to the RV ground we everybody else stayed.  We round the train around Ruby's Inn a couple of times.  I think that was Lexie's favorite thing.  We hiked Queens Garden and Navajo Trails.  The park is amazing Wall Street was my favorite.  The hike out was grueling but we made it.  We had a great time with family and of course too much good food.  We have all decided an RV is the way to travel.  The girls were great on the long ride, the adults played card games and the time just flew by.
Climbing to the Mossy Cave

We thought we would be able to go in the mossy cave, nope just a looking cave

Brett and JD helped everybody cross the stream so we could hike up to the windows.

JD and Lexie were the first ones up to the windows.

The trail was straight up.

Tara resting at the top.

All of us at Inspiration Point.

One of the many tunnels we hiked through.

Lexie posed in every tunnel.

Wishing rocks.

After the hike we stopped at a couple lookouts, the kids were pooped.

The old gas station.  My dad loved this because he used to pump gas at work on a pump like this

Lexie's 1st Soccer Game

Lexie waiting for her game to start
Lexie at half time.
Her team is called the Fireflies.
She scored a goal and kept track of who was winning at all times (she is not competitive at all) . Watching 4 yr olds play soccer is about the cutest thing I have ever seen. They play 3 on 3 with no goalie. Lexie was really aggressive and ran her little heart out. When the coach took her out so she could get a drink. She hurry and got a drink and then yelled at her coach (the coach is on the field helping the players) "Can I come back now", "I am ready to play again". Seriously it was the cutest thing ever. She loved it. I am pretty sure she invited everyone she saw Saturday and Sunday to come watch her next game.

A change in our home . . .

My cute cousin Tara has come to live with us. She started school at Weber High School last week. This is why we are trying to get the basement done quickly. Right now she is staying in Lexie's room and Lexie is in Brynnlee's room. Everyone has a bed and things are good, but it will be nice for her to have a room of her own. We are now raising a teenager! We are excited to have her here.

Paris FINALLY

We finally made it up to Paris for a weekend. We had the best most relaxing weekend we have in a long time.
JD and I went on a long 4-wheeler ride, while the girls stayed with Morris and Janeen. It was gorgeous, we saw tons of deer and even a couple of moose. It was such a fun ride, I can't wait to do it again.
We packed a lunch and headed up Emigration Canyon to pick Huckleberries. Yes, huckleberries. It was actually really monotonous but fun. We just wanted enough to make huckleberry shakes and that we did. After picking huckleberries we picnicked at the park in Montpelier. The girls love this park because of the horse swings.

Girls waiting to ride horses.
Each night we saddled the horses for a little ride.
Brynnlee surprised us all and loved riding the horses. She cried every time we took her off.
If we ever couldn't find one of the girls this is where they were. Talking, yelling, feeding, or watering the horses.

Bee's Game

Last week we went to American Family's Night at the Ball Park. We went to the Bee's game. It was nice to get out of the house and have a fun night.
Me and Lexie riding the Heber Valley Train. She was so excited and thought it was the best thing ever. Good thing it was free because I would never pay for that.
She finally got the nerve up to get a picture with a mascot. She has always loved mascots but wouldn't get close to them. She finally did it, she was so proud of herself.
Brynnlee was so excited for cotton candy and then she wouldn't even try it.
So she settled for Sprite and was happy with that.
Tara and Lexie showing me how excited they were to be at the ball game.

Basement

Brynnlee loves tools and being down in the basement when we are working. She loves the sound of the saws and drills. We have to be extra careful to unplug everything between uses because she loves power tools. Her shoes are on the wrong feet and no her hair didn't get combed this particular day. Don't worry it isn't snowing in our basement, it is all the dust from tearing our a wall and doors.
Lexie would come downstairs while we were working as long as no power tools were going. She hates the noise. She loves to use the shop-vac to clean up all the messes we make. She kept going downstairs to visit with the sheetrock hangers. They were all mexicans and she would really like to speak spanish. She would come upstairs and tell me she didn't know what they were saying, but one did say "hi". She would hang out down there all day if I would let her. She would just follow behind them and pick up screws and nails.
Framing and wiring all done!
This is how the girls have looked most weekends this summer

JD and B doing last minute things before insulation and sheetrock!

It seems like we have been working on our basement FOREVER! We have had a lot of help and many late nights. This weekend it looks like it is all paying off. Sheetrock is almost done. Mud and tape will be done this week! Then on to finish work and paint.

Anderson Family Reunion

This weekend was the Anderson Reunion at Heber Valley Camp. We went up Friday afternoon unpacked and relaxed until dinner. We had an amazing pasta and chicken dinner then went to do the zip line. It was fun to see everyone do to. We were only able to do a couple of the ropes courses because we hung around watching the
zip line too long. My whole family all slept in one cabin. We didn't get much sleep. Each kid took their turn on keeping everybody up or waking everybody up. It sucked at the time but now to look back it was pretty funny.
JD, me, Kim and Brandi woke up at 4:30 AM to go to my little brother Marcus' wedding at the Salt Lake temple. It was a nice wedding and a breakfast after at the Joseph Smith Mermorial Building. After the breakfast we hurried back to camp to rescue my mom and Tina from all of our kids. We made it back just in time for lunch and Minute-to-win-it. I was the official time keeper so I don't have any pictures from that. We had a great time catching up with cousins and aunts and uncles. Lexie loved playing with her second cousin who she doesn't get to see very often.
Lexie loved the sand boxes and animals everywhere.
Brynnlee enjoying being dirty.
JD climbing the swinging pool.
Jd crossing the high wire.
Bad picture but JD on the zip line.
