The Result of Teasing Spring Weather

This is the result of having a week of great weather and then weeks with rain and snow. She got beach toys for her birthday, which she has been playing with in the garden (on nice sunny days). Well she decided the weather was not going to stop her from playing with her beach toys! (She did have her snow boots on but they got stuck in the garden)

Lexie loves to use her umbrella. Any time in rains she will go stand outside just so she can use it.

Brynnlee will get her shoes and coat and stand at the door crying. This month has been hard on her, she doesn't understand that she can't go outside everyday because of the weather.

Of course they found a muddy puddle and just couldn't stay out of it!

Brynnlee Lately

Brynnlee is growing up. She still isn't talking but she sure does get her point across. She is already teasing her big sister. She knows exactly what to do to get Lexie going. Sometimes I just have to sit back and laugh. Lexie gets so frustrated and it just makes Brynnlee keep going. Oh, the love between sisters!

She loves to play in her food. Not much food gets in her mouth these days. But she does move it around so it looks like she ate some.

The one thing I am not suppose to feed her as a meal . . . CEREAL, and she loves it. She has cereal as a snack quite often. Lexie's gives B her leftovers, hence the two bowls.

Lexie is 4!

March 14th was Lexie's 4th birthday! She had been counting down the days until it was her birthday. Saturday we took her out for a birthday breakfast (because Monday she had to go to school). We went to Jerimiahs. JD told her they give a big surprise to you if you tell them it is your birthday. She was not shy at all about letting the waitress know it was her birthday. Right when the waitress came to our table Lexie says, "Mom tell her it is my birthday." They gave her a huge cinnamon roll. That thing had to weigh at least a pound it was huge, Lexie was in heaven. We then took her to IFA to pet the baby chicks and bunnies, again this is heaven to our animal lover Lexie. My parents came up Saturday afternoon to take her birthday shopping at the big toy store (Toys-R-Us). She was so excited to pick out some toys and then pick her favorite place to eat, the fish place (Pizzerria). She is one decisive girl who knows exactly what she wants and there is no changing her mind. We have no idea where she gets this!

Sunday we had a family dinner and did her cake and ice cream. I asked Lexie what kind of cake she wanted thinking she would pick a barbie or butterfly something like that. Well she says, a peanut butter one. Oh, okay anything else? And probably banana and chocolate. Wow, so I found a recipe for Peanut butter banana chocolate cupcakes. She was so excited, I gave her one . . .she bit into to it and said this isn't what I was thinking. So I made a vanilla barbie cake!

Monday she was excited to take a birthday treat to preschool. After school we met dad and Julie and Abby at McDonalds for lunch. Then Lexie and I did a little shopping. We had to take a couple of things back to Walmart. We are standing in the toy isle I am explaining to her we brought two little things back so she can pick two little things or one medium thing. She picked out a barbie. We are getting ready to leave and she stops turns to me and says, "Mom I know just what I need but it is not a toy. It will really help me keep my room clean. It will help me put my barbies away. Mom I really really need it." I ask her what it is. She picks up a barbie case. I start to tell her no she already picked something. Before I can say anything she goes on saying how she will keep her barbies always picked up. It will make it so she doesn't lose any little pieces. It will just be the greatest thing ever and she just has to have it. The whole time she is trying to convince me there is a lady standing behind her just laughing. The lady walks past me and say, "wow, good luck with that one". I would love to say that I didn't give in and get it for her and that my 4 year old can not convince me to do things, but I can't. We left the store with the case and the barbie. Later that night we went to Red Robin. Both girls loved it. Lexie ordered a Dr. Pepper because she can do anything on her birthday! They gave her two cupcakes for her birthday. She had a great day and was exhausted when we got home.

FINGERNAIL POLISH! We had some friends over watching "The Jimmer Show". Kids were playing just great. Lexie and Sammi were doing each others hair and then wanted to paint their nails. I said no way. They put the polish back, but Brynnlee found it. She comes waddling into the TV room, JD says, "does B have something in her mouth"? I look at her and think oh, man she got into Lexie's lipstick. I pick her up to get a closer look and realized lipstick was wishful thinking. She is covered in nail polish. I had to scrape her tongue and lips to get it off. I used nail polish remover to get some of it off her arms and hands. I put her in the tub and scrubbed some more. She still has it everywhere, not to mention the carpet in Lexie's room. JD and I have scrubbed for about an hour, not looking good. The joys of kids! I am pretty proud of both JD and I, neither of us freaked out. It possibly could have been the fact we had company, but hey we were both very calm.

Spring is HERE!!

I love being able to send the girls outside to play. They have been thrilled to play in the mud and run around the yard.

Lexie made volcanoes all day. She kept telling me what a beautiful day it was and that she needed to be outside to enjoy the sunshine!

Tubing

JD took Lexie tubing on Wednesday and she loved it. She has been asking to go every day since. So today Lexie and I went. We thought the new snow would be great, but we were wrong. It was way to wet and sticky. She kept telling me I needed to push her harder, she wasn't going fast enough. I guess when her and JD went she went really fast and it was fun. Oh well, we still got out of the house and had a good time.

Ice Skating with the Marshall's

We have been wanting to take the girls ice skating for a while now. Friday night we finally went. We went with John, Kamille and Berklie. We had so much fun. On the way there we were explaining to Lexie that it might be hard but she just needs to try her best and she will have fun. Her reply, "I know how to do it, I saw Daisy do it on the Mickey Mouse Christmas show". We got a laugh out of that.

Lexie wanted to stay with John all night. He is a hockey player and would take her around the rink really fast. He would spin her and let her jump. She loved it! At dinner after skating Lexie said, "John is so nice, he took me so fast. We need to go skating with him so much more often". I don't think she really cared that JD and I were there!

All three were done after an hour (I was too, man it takes a toll on your back bending over holding on to a kid).

She is concentrating so hard. She was able to stand up by herself and move just a little bit.

Brynnlee had her scope and biopsies on Wednesday. She was so good. The doctor said everything looked really normal. Blood tests came back normal (meaning her antibody count is up a little bit)! He called yesterday and said the biopsies also came back normal! So now what do we do? Well she has gained almost 1 lb in less than a month! The appetite stimulate she is on is working. She eats now and is pretty pleasant most of the time. We have to watch her sugar intake because she has a hard time digesting some sugars. The doctor thinks she is getting enough nutrients now that her body can make antibodies. We are crossing our fingers that the medicine is all she needs.

Trying to wake up after. She was so mad. I went in first and could hear her screaming from down the hall. I calmed her down a little and then the nurse tried to put an oxygen monitor on her toe. She was not having that. She put her toe in her mouth and ripped it off. She ripped off the blood pressure cuff and went for the IV, the nurse stepped back and said "she wins no monitors". Three nurses had tried to calm her, they couldn't believe such a little thing could scream that loud and be so stubborn!

She settled down after the nurses left but for some reason she was mad at me, she lunged out of my arms for JD and wouldn't come back to me for about 20 mins.
