Oregon

We just got back from a trip to the Oregon Coast. We drove with my parents, Brett, Kim, and Payton. We drove through the night on Sunday to get there only to find out we didn't need to. I had goofed up and we didn't have the beach house until Tuesday. But it all worked out we stayed in Portland, then drove up to Tillamook and then down to Lincoln. We saw a lot more than we would have if I hadn't goofed up. We stayed just outside of Lincoln City in a beach house. It was seriously amazing.
The water was so cold, but that didn't stop Lexie from trying to get in. Every time we would put her down on the beach she would beeline it to the water. We had to stay right by her every second because she would just keep walking no matter how deep the water got.
We never really had any plans, so if we saw something we would just pull over and go. We had a great time. We decided to drive through the night again on the way home, the little girls do a lot better that way. This was one of the best vacations we have been on. It was relaxing and so beautiful, something we would definitely do again.
Thank you mom and dad for being good sports and hiking with us. Thanks Brett and Kim for being so easy going and fun. Thank you Spencer and Abby for letting us take your vehicle we really appreciated it.

We hiked out on a cape, the view was amazing.

The sunset from our deck.
A cobble stone beach at a lighthouse.

Walking on the beach, it was chilly.

Swimming

She is very independent even in the water.
Sitting out while they check the pool.

On Thursday I took Lexie to the North Ogden Pool for the first time. She loved it. She is totally fearless, unless she is cold then it is a whole different story. She wanted to go down the big slides until a kid sprayed her with water. She loves the lazy river, we stayed in that for quite awhile. She loves to lay on her back and float around. I am really jealous of her skin, she is so freakin' tan just from that one day at the pool. I am so freakin' FRIED from that one day at the pool. We all know who she takes after and it isn't me.

Triathlon

JD just finished the Cache Valley Triathlon. Lexie and I got up early with him to go cheer him on. We were able to watch him swim, see him once on the bike and on the run. We barely made it to the finish line to see him cross. JD is excited he can say he has now done a triathlon. Now he starts training for the Lotoja. The Lotoja is a bike race from Logan to Jackson Hole. Yeah, I know he is crazy, but we still love him.
JD just before the start of the swim, the water was so cold it was mandatory to wear a wet suit.
JD just finishing up the bike part of the race.
JD just starting the run part of the race.

Happy Father's Day

JD, Lexie and Payton swinging at grandma's house
We love you daddy, Love your girls

The only time they weren't fighting
She really is that cute!

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. I am thankful for all the father's in my life. I am thankful for a wonderful husband who is the best father I could ask for for Lexie. She sure is a daddy's girl, this is easy to tell because she only says "dad" not "mom". I love you honey. I am so very thankful for my own dad. I am thankful he taught me how to work hard, how to give, and how to love. Thank you dad.

Sure she looks cute and innocent . . .

Yesterday Lexie and I were out in the front yard, I was weeding and she was throwing bark everywhere. I told her to go get her bucket out of the garage (because she kept trying to take mine). She was gone for two minutes when I decided it was too long. I go to the garage thinking that is were she should be, well she is not there. I start yelling for her. I look in the back yard. . . by the neighbors dogs . . . in the house. . . by this time I am panicking and yelling louder. I look for a third time in the garage and I hear her laughing but I still can't see her. I yell one last time and I see her poke her little head out of her bike trailer. Yeah, she is laughing and thinking she is so funny. I was relieved, but seriously she is not old enough to hide from me and think it is funny. Here is a picture of her after I told her hiding is not funny, she wasn't very happy.

Cold Weekend in Paris

We went up to Paris this weekend and it was cold. I guess it wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't blowing constantly. OK, so when we first pulled up to the house Lexie started freaking out because she knew that is where the horses are. The first thing she does when I put her down is start pick grass because that is what we do when we feed the horses. The thing is she goes for the short grass and if she is lucky gets two blades and heads over to the horses. This is why we can never let her outside by herself because she heads straight to the horses with two blades of grass in her little outstretched hand. The horses will either bite her hand or sometimes they think her hair is food. So we end up picking handfuls of grass and helping her feed them, she doesn't care that the wind is blowing like crazy and we are all freezing. When we take her inside the corral she doesn't just want to pet and feed them, she wants to sit on them. But sitting on just one is not enough she wants to sit on all of them. Well since it was so cold she didn't get to go outside and feed the horses much. She stands on the cooler by the window and and talks and points to the horses. We could always tell if the horses were coming up toward the house, Lexie would start screaming and hitting the window. Poor Lexie, she got a stubborn gene from both JD and I so she would usually stand on the cooler until one of us would give in and take her out to feed the horses. I guess it is not so much poor Lexie, but poor us! She doesn't give up easily on anything, the horses are just one example.

Here are a couple of pictures of her standing on the cooler talking to the horses.

Lexie, Lexie, Lexie

The other day I was in my bathroom trying to get ready. This is next to impossible with Lexie wanting everything that I have in my hand. So she is at my feet trying to climb up the cabinet to get anything that she can't have. I finish putting on my mascara and hand it to her. She is happy for a while, I check every now and then to make sure the lid is on tight. Well, I guess I didn't check often enough because I looked down and she is trying to put mascara on. She has it all over her hands and all over her cheeks. Luckily she didn't get any in her eyes. I get her cleaned up and give her a bathroom cup with a little water in it to play with. I only put a little water in it because she is not very good at drinking out of a cup yet. She leaves the bathroom and was quiet for a minute . . . ok it was like two minutes. I go to see were she is and she was in the other bathroom DRINKING OUT OF THE TOLIET! She was soaking wet, just dipping her cup in and drinking as much as she could get in her mouth. Yeah, I freaked and then started laughing because she did look really cute. I wish I would of thought to take a picture, but really the only thing on my mind was disinfecting her and everything around. Needless to say all of our bathroom doors stay closed now.

I Have Been Tagged! 6 Random Things About MySelf

1. I met JD the first night I moved up to Ogden. Now how is that not meant to be.

2. I have no feeling on my left hip and down my left thigh. All of my surface nerves were cut during surgery, so it really bugs me when people touch my leg. Not because I can feel it but because I can't (I know that makes perfect sence).

3. I love chocolate. I could eat nothing but chocolate and be as happy as ever. I have to have chocolate at least twice a day, I seriously can't go without it.

4. I am an artist at heart. I can't draw or anything, but sometimes I like to think I can.

5. I really hate to iron. I will do just about anything so I don't have to iron. I have found many ways of getting around it, yes most of them don't look as good but I really don't care.

6. I love to tickle Lexie and make her laugh. The only problem with this is that she is only ticklish when she wants to be. So if she is not in the mood you can tickle her anywhere and there is noway she is laughing. So I guess the ticklish gene split on her because I am ticklish whether I want to be or not and JD is never never ever ticklish.
